Behold, another bit of music. Behold, nothing particularly new. Behold, some fairly snappy album art, if nothing else. This is Supermetricity, the latest in a bunch of increasingly tedious attempts at progressive something-or-other.
Enjoy, if that's your thing. If it's not, then don't. Unless not doing your thing is your thing, in which case aren't you just a riddle wrapped up in an enigma wrapped up in some kind of strudel.
So, yeah. I didn't really make anything for FAWM this year, either. I made stuff, but it wasn't for FAWM. Here it is, anyway. It's much of the same. Enjoy. Or don't. If you do (or don't), feel free to let me know why. (Or don't. Y'know. I'm easy like that.)
Here's a couple of Garageband tracks, largely wedged in the centre of the uninspired progressive genre.

Here's another track to go with the four in the previous post. This one is more of the usual material, some airy nonsense with fake piano and guitar sprinkled on it. A lengthy piano outtro is never a bad thing, though.
If you have an opinion about any of these musical bits and pieces, please post it below. I'd appreciate any feedback, if only so I can decide whether it's worth continuing to toss this stuff in the internet's general direction.
I wanted to participate in FAWM this year, and I gave it a shot, but ultimately I just ended up with a heap of unfinished junk. So, as you do, I've polished the junk up, and now it's called Præteriit, and it's on Soundcloud polluting the ears of random internet passersby. You can listen to all four tracks below, if you feel so inclined.
What you get for your money, ultimately, is something pretty similar to everything I've done before, with loads of pads, too much piano, considerable overuse of the Dsus2 chord, and fairly repetitive chord structures.
There's nothing wrong with being your own worst critic. You should try it some time!
More music for your long-suffering ears. Here's a three-part piece with a bunch of different things going on. Much of it is general progressive fare, part diverges into a bit of sea shanty, and there's some fairly melodic piano in places. It's long -- 15 minutes -- but it's made of three separate pieces that share a theme, so, y'know. You get that.
Influences for this include Porcupine Tree and Sting, which are about as disparate as things can get, really.

More music, because I do that kind of thing. Fake guitar with some (fake) piano and (obviously fake) wailing synth and what-have-you. It's almost coherent. Almost.
I've revived an old MIDI tune by throwing it at Garageband and tweaking a few dials. This track was largely inspired by various chunks of Tool, Lacuna Coil and Dream Theater, resulting in a hodge-podge mish-mash of semi-gothic mellow-metal electronic noises. Enjoy!
More muzak. The title, if you're curious (and I'm sure you are), is Latin for "ghostly". This one's not as finished as I'd like it to be, but I've pored over it and I can't really be willed to do anything further with it. It's got some nice melody and some bizarreness about it. For some inexplicable reason, it also mocks the hearty power chords of every television theme song from the early 1980s' at one point. If you can spot it, you can have a gold star.
Part of the continuing deluge of "Potentia II: Extras", sequel to "Potentia II', itself a sequel to "Potentia". Bet you didn't see that coming.

Here's another quick YouTube dawdle. In this case, I'm experimenting with using my Olympus OM 50mm f1.8 lens for video on my Canon 600D. Apart from some exposure issues which are easy to deal with, it works splendidly and I'll be exploiting its smooth focus and awesome depth of field in the future! I have a small collection of original music that I've been tending to for a few years, occasionally tweaking, and moving slowly closer to something that I'd be happy to admit to having composed. It's probably not quite there, yet. Still, that hasn't stopped me from making it public to the terrifying and opening critical world. Here's a selection of tracks, from the "not a concept album" that I've entitled Potentia. There are a few more tracks, which I'm happy to upload, I just haven't done so. If there's interest, I will. If there's not, well, that's less work I need to do.
The album(s) are mostly progressive rock, or inspired by progressive rock. I've experimented a lot with interesting chord structures and time signatures.

Sometimes I make music. Sometimes it's alright. Sometimes it's not. Sometimes, it's remarkably in-between, and defies being pressed into either of the aforementioned categories. In this example, I've managed to fuse together some bizarre early Porcupine Tree-esque bass bounces with some Yamaha DX-7 vintage electric piano stylings and some entirely unnecessary organ chords in the introduction. I can't help myself.
